About Us

Rafiki Initiative Organization (RIO) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Tanzania, operating out of Arusha.

RIO was officially established on [2025] and registered under Tanzanian NGO regulations with registration number 00NGO/R/8219. We are recognized as a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and creating sustainable opportunities for their future.

Governance and Structure: The Board of RIO comprises five members: a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and an additional Board Member. Each member plays a vital role in steering the organization toward achieving its mission and vision. The operational management is overseen by the Chairperson, while all other Board Members serve in an unpaid, volunteer capacity.

To ensure effective implementation of our projects, RIO is supported by a dedicated Competence Team that provides strategic advice and assistance to the Board. Together, the Board and Competence Team ensure that all efforts align with RIO’s commitment to empowering children and alleviating poverty in Tanzania.
